My online journal.
Oh my gosh, that is AWESOME. What a good sport that guy is! I need SO many more details. How many Bollywood movies did you watch to research this? How did you choose the music? What made them want to do a Bollywood dance? (Oh, and I LOVE the slo-mo, especially her "diving" through his arms. Priceless.)
The timing was actually really funny -- I had just watched a Bollywood dance on So You Think You Can Dance, and I was all "I don't get why this is so HARD for them, it looks super easy and repetitive and any monkey could do this!"And the very next day Natasha emailed asking if I could choreo a Bollywood dance for their wedding. When we were in London in 2004 we saw "Bombay Dreams" and I had bought the soundtrack, which I occasionally use for dance warmups etc. I had Natasha listen to "Chaiyya Chaiyya" and she looked up the translation of the lyrics and it sounded perfect for a wedding so we went with it. I found a boatload of YouTube videos and my Indian friend Priya sent me some links she especially liked, and it just evolved from there!I had had Natasha in a Latin dance class right after Eddie was born, and she and David had taken a swing lesson from me once a couple summers ago. They have such awesome energy and were SUCH good sports to throw themselves into it!! They were SO excited and so wonderful to work with. It was a great experience.
So fun! Thanks for posting the link.
